We love to go to Jalisco's it has been a tradition since my husband and I were kids for both of our families and now we take our kids. The decor is older looking but really neat. The food is good with the perfect amount of flavor. The service is one of the best. We tend to come here 3 to 4 times a month sometimes multiple times in the same week. We will definately be back!

If you like 'authentic' southern Mexican cooking this is the place! I've been coming here for 10 years for the buffet. There's very little of the Americanized deep-fried food here, mostly oven baked. Most items are lean pork- there's no chicken here. Jalisco's has been here for 30 years or more and I don't think they've redecorated since then, but I don't come here to look at the decor. They keep it clean, the buffet is bountiful and the price is fair. I am a loyal customer.

I first went here when I was like 10. Even at that age, I was able to see that decor was incredibly tacky. I went there again recently and it was the exact same. It was like I stepped back in time. The food is disappointing, but not awful, except for the tamales, which were awful. The masa was incredibly dense, thick, and dry, while the pork was bland.

Craving Mexican and feeling nostalgic ? Jalisco is the place to go. Oh my goodness ! Tacky metal sculptures, lighting fixtures straight from the Munsters show set, missed matched tables & chairs, good 'ol set of bull horns only adds to this places' charm. The only thing missing was a mirrored ball, a black velvet painting and the bulls balls. :p Jalisco's has a buffet ! An actual Mexican food buffet. I 'bout fell out upon entering. Salad, fresh fruit, tamales, burritos, tacos & enchiladas. I have to say, though don't know for sure, some of the casserole type chow may have fallen off the back of the Sysco truck. Not that that's bad, but those looking for authentic...meh. The chips sucked, but they do bring you two different heats on the salsa. I was impressed with the 4 different chili combos. I tried one with hominy and pork. Yum ! Now for the bad. Ladies if you're over 5'2", don't even bother with the thunder box. Tiny, tiny, tiny....as in "How am I going to get my ass in there ?" PROTIP: Let's just say, lock the door and use the one without the stall door. PROTIP #2: better yet...just skip the bathroom....yick! Having average food, this place would be a great place to go coming off a bender. Ole' !

Two words: Bacon. Taco. We went on a Sunday around 12:30pm after noticing that Cirque de Alex was closed (possibly for Renovations), so YMMV. The Sunday buffet is a little over $8-and-change as of this writing; all you can eat. First off, the decor is straight-up 1970s. Orange booths, carpeted walls, lighting fixtures that look like they came out of a Medieval torture chamber, and a big ol' set of bull's horns right by the door. We decided on the buffet after viewing the (somewhat limited) menu. Taco meat was on the bland side for me, but SixFootTwo liked it. Pico de gallo is included in the buffet, so that went well with the complimentary corn chips. They also had fresh-made Potato chips in the buffet, they were actually pretty good. They had bacon, eggs and chorizo along with it all, thus allowing me to make my own long-awaited Bacon Taco - with cheese and pico de gallo. Yum! The service was OK, but we were about the only people in the place at the time. Now normally, all of this would be enough to get me back in the door another time; but the bathrooms were WAY filthy and **tiny**, according to SixFootTwo; so in addition to this being well out of our way, this may be our last visit to this restaurant.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
